SHAKED DAGAN-MÖNIG
DANCE / CURATION / RESEARCH
Shaked Dagan-Mönig is a dance artist, researcher, curator, and dance facilitator. After completing her dance studies in Israel, she worked internationally as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Since her time dancing for the Batsheva Dance Company, she began teaching the Gaga method, and a decade later began allowing mindfulness to saturate and shift her improvisation teaching approach.
Shaked created choreographic works that were performed internationally. Her main interests include topics like femineity and gender roles, as well as nomadism and the traveling body. She investigates the accessibility and sustainability of dance and performance as an artist, curator, and dance entrepreneur. As part of this, she is developing concepts and projects that flourish in the intersection between mediums and disciplines and open up access points and space for dialogue within and around contemporary dance.
Shaked holds a BA in Arts and Cultural Management and is currently writing her thesis for her Master in Curating (Aarhus University).
She is the recipient of the American-Israel Scholarship for Dance and Choreography grant, the DAAD Scholarship, and the Yehoshua Rabinovitz Foundation for Arts grant.
